Heritage Trail

"The Ballarat Koorie Heritage Trail will take you on a journey into the local Aboriginal history"

Ten sites situated in and close to the Ballarat CBD have been linked to form a driving tour.

Interpretation boards at each site tell of a history extending thousands of years into the past, when clans of the Wathaurung roamed the area.

The Trail reveals a shared local history, one which is inclusive of Aboriginal peoples. It also provides an opportunity to acknowledge the past and reflect on the lessons of history, so that the future we create is harmonious for all Australians.
